Corey Woods was elected Mayor of Tempe in March 2020 and previously served on the Tempe City Council from 2008 to 2016. Professionally, he is the Executive Director of Community Relations at ASU Preparatory Academy and has held leadership roles with the Greater Phoenix Urban League, Phoenix Union High School District, and the American Lung Association of Arizona. Mayor Woods has championed affordable housing, human services, and inclusive policies, helping Tempe earn a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign's Municipal Equality Index.
